About us
Collecting shouldn't be out of reach
Panda Sports Collectibles sells authentic sports memorabilia at prices ordinary fans can actually pay. A family-run shop with a deliberately short list of promises. This page is about how we work, which is the part you can judge us on from the first order.
Why we started
Two problems, both fixable
Sports memorabilia has two problems that keep ordinary fans out of it. The first is that you often can't tell what you're buying — a certificate is only as good as whoever issued it, and plenty are issued by the person doing the selling. The second is price: between auction premiums, buyer's fees and estimates set high on purpose, a piece can cost half again what it should before anyone has shipped anything.
Neither is hard to fix. You authenticate what you sell, properly, and you say who did it. You price the piece once and you don't add fees on top. Neither of those requires being a large company — it mostly requires deciding not to do it the other way.
So that's what Panda is. A shop for people who want a signed jersey on the wall or a graded rookie card in a case, who want to know it's real, and who don't want to remortgage anything to get one.
It started with Josh, who had been buying and reselling memorabilia on his own for a while — finding pieces worth having, pricing them sensibly, moving them on. The rest of us figured that deserved a proper shop rather than a stack of individual listings, and that between us we had the rest of it covered. Josh still does the buying; everything else got built around it.
We'd rather earn trust with specifics than borrow it with testimonials we haven't got. What we can show you is what each piece is, what documentation comes with it, and what it costs with nothing added at checkout — true on the first order as much as the thousandth.
On where the stock comes from: we buy through established auction houses and dealers in the memorabilia trade. What we won't do is write our own certificates — paperwork from the person selling you the item is worth very little, which is half of what's wrong with this market in the first place. Whatever documentation a piece carries, that's what the listing will tell you it carries.
Who we are
Family run
Four of us, and every email you send is read by one of them.
-
Josh Twohig
Buying & pricing
Sources everything we sell and sets what it goes up at. He was buying and reselling memorabilia before there was a shop around it, which is the reason there's a shop at all.
-
Jake Twohig
Website & advertising
Builds and runs the site, and sets the advertising strategy. He also runs his own web design business, JT Builds Co — so the shop gets a proper build rather than a template someone rented.
-
Nolan Twohig
Social & promotion
Half of the pair getting Panda in front of people — new arrivals, pickups, and answering questions wherever you follow us.
-
Liam Twohig
Social & promotion
The other half. Between them they're the reason anyone hears about a piece before it's gone.
What we promise
Four things, in plain terms
Short list, deliberately. We'd rather commit to a few things and keep them.
-
We've held everything we sell
Nothing is drop-shipped and nothing is listed from a photograph someone else took. Stock arrives here, gets checked against its paperwork, and ships from here.
-
If it isn't authentic, you get your money back
Any item we sell as authentic that turns out not to be is refunded in full. That's not a promotion, it's the basic deal.
-
The price is the price
No buyer's premium, no auction fees, no estimate inflated so a discount can be applied later. What's on the listing is what you pay, plus shipping.
-
We tell you what we actually know
Listings say what documentation a piece carries and where it came from. Where there's a gap in what we know, the listing says so instead of papering over it.
